President’s Welcome Message

Thanks for visiting the Temple Shalom website!

On behalf of the Board of Trustees and our entire congregation, welcome to Temple Shalom’s website. We are a diverse, welcoming community that celebrates, cares and comforts. We are proud to be a multigenerational learning community, providing opportunities for worship, study, and Tikkun Olam (repairing the world).

Whether you are looking for Jewish life cycle events, religious school, Torah study, adult education, social action, socializing and camaraderie with young families, young adults, Brotherhood, Sisterhood, or Shalom Super Seniors, we have something to connect you into our caring community. I met my wife at Temple Shalom when we were both volunteering leading our youth groups. We raised our children at Temple Shalom and now have the pleasure to watch our first grandchild roam the temple’s halls. I cannot adequately express in words how grateful I am to have raised my family in a safe, sincere, caring, and welcoming community.

Please join us for worship services, a family program, or visit our religious school. I would love to personally welcome you; and I know our Executive Director David Lamden, our Senior Rabbi Andrew Paley, and Deborah Niederman, Director Lifelong Learning, would be pleased to meet with you by appointment to show you around, learn about your family and how our congregation may be of service to you and yours. Our belonging team, led by Coordinator of Belonging Monica Susman, is also available to help you find your way whether you are new to North Texas, or to Temple Shalom!

Judaism is a communal experience, filled with tradition and joy, and we hope you will join our community and find meaning and fulfillment in belonging and participating in what Temple Shalom has to offer. There are so many different opportunities at Temple Shalom to find what fulfills your need in a Jewish Community, as we connect our congregants to one another, to God, Torah, Israel and the Jewish people.

I hope you will feel the same as you explore our pages. I look forward to meeting you here, where you belong!

B’ Shalom,

Dennis J. Eichelbaum
Temple President
