President’s Welcome Message

Thanks for visiting the Temple Shalom website!

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I’m delighted that you’re interested in learning more about our congregation and our community. As you browse the tabs, you’ll discover there’s a lot to explore. That’s a reflection of the breadth and depth of our programming: worship, religious school, adult education, social action, community service, social events, and much more.

I’m biased…we joined Temple Shalom nearly 20 years ago when my wife and I moved to Dallas. I didn’t grow up here, so I was looking for a congregation friendly to “transplants.” Today, our membership is a mix of singles and couples (including same sex couples) who live in Dallas, Richardson, Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney, Irving, Carrollton, Garland, and beyond.

The common denominator at Temple Shalom is wanting to be a part of a diverse, exciting and welcoming congregation where you can be as involved as you want. We’ve got wonderful long-time members, but our newcomers quickly feel a part our community. Attend a Shabbat service, come to a program, let us give you a tour or arrange for your child to visit religious school on Sunday morning.  Please reach out if I can answer questions or share more about Temple Shalom.

I look forward to visiting with you,
Temple President
