Every Jew has a story. Some of us inherited Judaism around a family table. Others discovered it at camp, in a classroom, on a trip to Israel, at a wedding, during a time of loss, or through the kindness of someone who showed us what Jewish life could be. However our journey began, each of us can point to moments—and to people—who helped shape our Jewish story.
As we prepare to enter the High Holy Days, join us for an evening of learning, reflection, and storytelling as we explore one of Judaism’s oldest questions: How does the Jewish story travel from one generation to the next?
Together we will study timeless Jewish texts, reflect on the people who have influenced our own Jewish journeys, and begin creating a Temple Shalom Jewish Story Archive—a collection of personal stories that celebrates the many ways Judaism has touched our lives and continues to shape our community.
This year’s High Holy Day theme is Telling a Jewish Story. Selichot is where that story begins.
Come discover the people, moments, and memories that helped make your Jewish story your own—and consider how you will help write the next chapter.
