Rabbi Andrew Paley is the Senior Rabbi and spiritual leader, and in 2024 is celebrating his 20th year at Temple Shalom. Ordained in 1995, Rabbi Paley holds a Master’s Degree in Hebrew Letters and a Doctor of Divinity, Honoris Causa from Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from The Ohio State University.
In the city of Dallas, Rabbi Paley is a Dallas Police Chaplain and Chair of the Dallas Police Chief’s Multi-Faith Advisory Council, a member of the Good Neighbor Task Force of the City of Dallas District 12, a founding member and past Chair of Faith Forward Dallas at Thanks-Giving Square, a board member of The Senior Source, and a member of the Muslim/Jewish Advisory Council of the Dallas Chapter of The American Jewish Committee. He is also a Prepare/Enrich certified marital and premarital counselor.
Rabbi Paley has served as a mentor for rabbinic colleagues in congregations around the country as well as to rabbinical students in seminary. He has edited two prayer books, one for the Sabbath and one for families for the High Holy Days. Rabbi Paley is married to Deborah Niederman and is the father of Molly and Samuel.

Debbie received her Bachelor of Arts in Judaic Studies and Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1993, she earned a Masters in Jewish Education from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles and in 1995, she received the title Reform Jewish Educator and in 2018 an Honorary Doctorate in Religious Education. For more than 20 years, Debbie has served on the board of the Association of Reform Jewish Educators and is a past president of that organization. Temple Shalom is the fourth congregational learning program Debbie has led.
Debbie is one of the authors of the CHAI: Learning for Jewish Life curriculum core developed by the URJ Department of Lifelong Jewish Learning. She served as the Associate Director of the Leadership Institute for the Union for Reform Judaism for five years and previously served as a Regional Educator, Congregational Consultant and Curriculum Writer at the URJ. Debbie also worked for her alma mater, Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, for over 10 years serving as both the Coordinator of Career Services and the Director of the Alumni Association of the Schools of Education.

Mandy oversees and organizes all our music programming at Temple Shalom which includes bringing in musical guests, selecting and providing music for Shabbat services, organizing and supervising the Adult Choir, and directing our Youth Choir, Kol Shalom. She also composes new pieces to elevate the worship experience at Temple Shalom.

Monica strives to create positive experiences, relationship development and engagement opportunities for both current and prospective members. Working with the Belonging Committee, Marketing Coordinator and staff, Monica develops opportunities to recruit new and retain current members.
Lisa ensures that the Jewish community in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex knows all about the great programs at Temple Shalom!
Donna provides administrative and operational assistance to the Senior Rabbi and Director of Education.

Heidi handles belonging commitment, donations and other monies coming into the Temple as well as donation acknowledgements and maintains the Temple Shalom website.

Cantor Croll, a native of Buffalo, New York, is an invested cantor having graduated with honors in liturgical interpretation from Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion’s School of Sacred Music in 1978. He spent ten years as cantor and music director of Temple Beth Torah in Upper Nyack, New York, and has also served as cantor in Los Angeles, California and Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has performed in Israel and appeared as guest soloist with Kol Echad, the premier Jewish chorale in Los Angeles and the Albuquerque Symphony, as well as the Kennedy Center’s July 4th celebration “Let Freedom Sing”. Cantor Croll is a member of the Cantor’s Assembly and is currently serving on the Board of Trustees of the American Conference of Cantors.
HUC-JIR bestowed an honorary Doctorate of Music degree on Cantor Croll for his twenty-five years in the cantorate and in June 2018, Cantor Croll received an award celebrating his forty years in the cantorate. In 2008, Cantor Croll was Temple Shalom Brotherhood’s Man of the Year in celebration of his 13 years at Temple Shalom. Cantor Croll was inducted as a Life Member into Brotherhood’s Hall of Fame. Cantor Croll retired on May 31, 2013 and is currently the senior clergy at Congregation Beth El Binah in Dallas.
Cantor Croll is married to Jan Gartenberg.
Rabbi Roseman came to Temple Shalom in 1985 after serving as the Rabbi of Temple Beth El in Madison, Wisconsin. Ordained in 1966, Rabbi Roseman also earned a Ph.D. in Jewish History from Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati. He served as Dean of Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion, and later taught Jewish history at Southern Methodist University. Rabbi Roseman served as Co-Chairman of the National Joint Commission on Jewish Education and Chairman of the Committee on Family and Children’s Liturgy. His series of Jewish history books for adolescents garnered two prestigious awards.
As a community activist, he represented Temple Shalom as an officer of the Attending Clergy Association of Presbyterian Hospital and Chairman of the Rabbinical Association of Greater Dallas.
In 2002, Rabbi Roseman retired from Temple Shalom as rabbi emeritus, and took the pulpit of Temple Beth El in Corpus Christi with the intention of staying just one year. Instead, he helped forge the union of Temple Beth El with B’nai Israel Synagogue, to form Congregation Beth Israel. In 2014, he authored a book, Of Tribes and Tribulations, which addresses twelve of the most common issues raised by religious seekers.
Rabbi Roseman passed away in 2020 from complications of Covid-19.
