Connections Council

Isn’t It Time You Made A Connection?

Being a member at Temple Shalom means being part of a community for not only religious and spiritual growth, but also for the connections within our warm and wonderful community both inside and outside our beautiful building.  The Connections Council committees offer just that – ways to connect with other Temple Shalom members.

If you are interested in becoming a part of any of our exciting program, please contact our Connections Council Chair, Kimberly Kort, at  Whether you have a lot of time, or just a little, or whether you have been a member of Temple Shalom for decades or just days, we have a spot for you!

Each Sunday when religious school is in session, the Stay & Schmooze committee makes sure that there are bagels, cream cheese and coffee (with flavored creamers!) for anyone who wants to hang out while their kids are in class.  Or anyone who just wants to hang out at Temple!   Some weeks we offer events – like yoga, recipe swaps, idea swaps or scrapbooking – and we always have Mah Jongg, Scrabble and wi-fi for those who need to stay connected.  If you would like to plan one or more Sunday events, or just want to meet other parents, being a part of this committee is perfect for you! The Membership Committee works closely with prospective members to introduce them to all facets of Temple Shalom and the Dallas Jewish community, should they be new to our city.   We also welcome new members and help them get connected to Temple in a way that is meaningful to them.  It heats up right before the High Holy Days and the start of religious school, but has year-round volunteer opportunities as we help new members become involved in Temple life.  Membership events included the August 21st Prospective Member Brunch, and our New Member Service on August 19th this year.  Being a part of the Membership Committee is a great way to share your knowledge and love of, and experiences at, Temple Shalom.
