Life Starts at 55 for Temple Shalom Seniors!

Shalom Silver, Temple Shalom's dynamic senior group, the happening place!

Shalom Silver members would like to thank Judy Parker for her dedication, time, and creativity in scheduling events for our group over the past 8 years.  Hopefully by the fall, we will have new leadership in place.  Below is Judy's letter to our group.  We wish her well in all of her future endeavors.

Dear Shalom Silver Friends,

It has been eight years since I took over the Chairmanship of Shalom Silver. We’ve enjoyed many wonderful programs together; we’ve had many musical programs, monthly dinners, Chair Tai Chi sessions, plays, Laughing Yoga, nutrition classes, BINGO, field trips, and more! It’s now time for me to move on, but first I want to thank Ken, my Co-Chair and Judy Utay, our Secretary/Treasurer, for all of their help! Others who have helped through the years are: Arlene and Arvin Kreitman, Sherry Rosenberg, and Denise and Bernie Mayoff! This past year Annette Gersh and Joyce Rubenstein took charge of the food, Ellen Schwartz pitched in, Ilene Brill helped with programming, and Jordana Witheiler planned our Essers and Fressers dinners. Joyce Wilson did a great job on our flyers and website! All your help has been much appreciated! It truly takes a village!

I hope someone or a group of people will step forward and bring new vitality to our great group, which provides an important service to our senior community. Please let me or our Connection Council know if you’re interested in taking part, starting in the Fall. Some of the people mentioned above are willing to continue helping.

So, many thanks to all my Shalom Silver friends; it’s been a pleasure getting to know so many of you and enjoying good times together!

                                                                                                 Warm regards,

                                                                                                 Judy (Parker)
